- Footwork becomes visible via your dancing body
Quality footwork is a vitally important factor in the development of good dancing. What I like about footworkis that as the naming indicates the feet have to work when dancing!! Consider that quality footwork is an aspect that comes not automatically, it requires practise, practise, practise and...... Footwork is not isolated but strongly related to what I personally call leg styling which differs per dance. Thus also thefootwork differs per dance To improve your generic leg styling I summarise here some basic footwork principles which are applicable for each dance: Parallelism of the feet, Inner-side foot balance, Floor skimming feet, Pushing and pulling feet.
